Botox® is a wrinkle muscle relaxer that is administered as an injectable. It temporarily numbs the muscles using botulinum toxin type A, specifically OnabotulinumtoxinA. This diminishes the presence of lines and facial wrinkles.
It is a minimally invasive treatment that is considered effective and safe for lines on your forehead, around the eyes, and on other parts of the face.
How Long Will my Botox® Results Last?
As much as we all wish Botox® would last forever, top-up treatments are required. For most patients, Botox® will last between three and four months. However, some of our patients at Juvanew Medspa find that they only need top-ups every six months.
It is also common for Botox® to last longer after your second treatment when compared with your first. Everyone is different, though, so results can vary.

Types of Neurotoxins Available
In the United States, botulinum toxin type A injections are the most popular non-invasive aesthetic treatment. Yet, requesting that is a bit of a mouthful, right? Many people call these injections Botox®, yet Botox® is one of four types of BoNT-A injectables that have been approved by the FDA for cosmetic use. Other options include Xeomin®, Jeuveau®, and Dysport®. We offer both Botox® and Dysport® here at Juvanew Medspa.
Both treatments are very similar. They both work by blocking nerve signals in the muscles around the injection site. They also both contain botulinum toxin. However, there are a few differences. Dysport® is manufactured and marketed by the Medicis company, whereas Botox® is manufactured and marketed by the Allergan company. Dysport® also spreads to a wider area, which makes it more suitable for some treatments yet less suitable for treatments targeting a very specific area of the face. Botox® results can take a little bit longer to appear. You will usually notice results within four to seven days with Botox®, whereas results from Dysport® appear within two to five days.
