We treat a variety of skin conditions with lasers at Juvanew Medspa. You will often see lasers categorized as non-ablative versus ablative. Below are brief explanations and their applications.
Nd:YAG Laser (Non-ablative)
Non-ablative laser treatments are safe, quick and minimally invasive. They leave the skin unharmed while targeting a specific object within the skin: blood vessels, hair follicles, pigment or tattoo ink.
Erbium Laser (Ablative)
Laser resurfacing is a treatment to reduce facial wrinkles and skin irregularities, such as acne scars, stretch marks, moles, actinic keratosis, and skin tags. The technique directs short, concentrated pulsating beams of light at the skin, precisely vaporizing skin layer by layer. One of the benefits of erbium laser resurfacing is a minimal burning of surrounding tissue, causing fewer side effects such as swelling, bruising, and redness. This popular procedure is also called a laser peel, and it can be performed on specific spots, the face, neck, chest or body.
During your initial consultation, a skincare expert will perform a comprehensive evaluation to discuss your facial enhancement goals and assess the condition of your skin, in order to create a customized treatment plan designed to safely and efficiently address your concerns and fulfill your cosmetic objectives.
