Laser Hair Removal
Say goodbye to unwanted hair and the hassle and pain of temporary hair removal methods, such as shaving, waxing, and electrolysis. Laser hair removal is an excellent choice for men and women who have unwanted hair that they want to remove for good.
How Does Laser Hair Removal Work?
We provide the most comfortable treatments with our advanced long-pulse Nd:YAG laser. The premier scanning device used at Juvanew Medspa accurately covers 100% of the treatment area faster and safer than other technologies. We can target any hair follicle in any skin type.
The Fotona Nd:YAG laser has the depth of penetration necessary to reach hair follicles without causing collateral damage to the skin. Laser hair removal is accomplished by delivering laser energy into the skin where hair growth is present. Laser energy is attracted to hemoglobin that nourishes the hair follicle, and the melanin in hair within the follicle. White, blonde, or gray hair does not pull in the laser energy and generally will not be affected by treatment.
The hair follicles that are in an anagen, or growing, phase will absorb the energy, heat will be created, and the follicle will die. A follicle in a resting, or telogen, phase will not absorb the energy, and therefore will not be affected by the treatment. Treatments are timed to occur during these growth cycles. The number of treatments necessary depends on the client’s expectations, but typically laser hair removal requires a series of 6-8 treatments.
Am I a Good Candidate For Laser Hair Removal?
You’re a good candidate for laser hair removal if you have excess body hair on the legs, arms, bikini line, back, and other common treatment areas. Ideal candidates have medium-to-light colored skin with darker hair follicles.
How Long Does a Typical Treatment Take?
A typical treatment takes about 30 to 60 minutes to perform, depending on the body part that’s being treated.
What Results Will I See?*
You’ll begin to see your treated hair follicles fall out, with slower follicular regrowth. By the end of your laser hair removal sessions, you should be able to go several months without seeing hair regrowth.
Is There Any Downtime?
There’s no downtime associated with your treatment; however, your treated skin will probably feel sensitive after your procedure. It’s best to wear sunscreen immediately after undergoing laser hair removal.
