What Areas of the Body Can CoolSculpting Target?

Body fat. Now those are two words that are commonly loathed in our weight-obsessed culture. Yes, we know that body fat surrounds and cushions vital organs, insulates us against the cold, and acts as a strategic calorie reserve to store fuels for energy until we need it, making it a vital part of our survival. However, many of us have had fluctuations in weight where we have gained and lost pounds and sometimes returning to a healthy weight can leave us with areas of stubborn fat cells that just won’t shrink and respond to diet and exercise. This is where the amazing CoolSculpting technology comes into play.

CoolSculpting Basics

CoolSculpting has quickly become one of the most highly sought-after treatments for fat reduction! It is non-invasive, involves no downtime and takes just one hour per area to treat, making it a procedure that can even be done on your lunch break from work!

During a typical CoolSculpting appointment, a technician places a gel pad over the area to be treated to act as a barrier between your body and the CoolSculpting device. Next, the device is cooled to the appropriate temperature and placed on the gel pad. The fat underneath the pad will freeze, but not any of the surrounding organs, nerves or tissue (because they freeze at a much lower temperature than the fat cells). Once the fat cells have been frozen, they will die and be consumed by regular cells. Through the body’s natural processes, the dead cells are then eliminated from the body. The area being treated will be reduced by 20-25% during the next 4-12 weeks following the treatment. Some patients will opt to have more than one treatment per area in order to achieve their ideal results.

What Areas of the Body Can Be Treated?

Thanks to the advances in the CoolSculpting devices themselves, just about any area where excess fat troubles you can be treated! Fat on the chin and neck can be treated with a smaller CoolSculpting device called the Cool Mini. Your flanks or “love handles” can be treated and with the DualSculpting device, both sides can be treated at the same time during one visit. Of course, the tummy was one of the first areas that CoolSculpting addressed and remains one of the most requested treatment areas.  Longer and thinner applicators have made it easier to treat the inner and outer thighs as well as the upper arms. Finally, men who suffer from gynecomastia (enlargement of the breast) have even been able to receive CoolSculpting treatments to reduce fat around the breast area.

As you can see, CoolSculpting can treat just about every area where stubborn fat lingers. This is one reason that it is becoming a widely popular treatment for so many people who are struggling with unwanted fat.
