How Does the O-Shot® Work?
The O-Shot® uses PRP, the plasma extracted from your blood after spinning it in a centrifuge. This plasma contains large numbers of platelets, the body’s first responders against any sign of injury. It also contains many other necessary healing and growth factors.
After applying numbing cream, PRP will be injected into your labia, clitoral area, and the outer part of the vagina. You will not feel any discomfort. After injection, the PRP signals your cells to begin a healing and growth process that restores the treated area and resolves many symptoms of feminine discomfort. O-Shot® treatment sessions last about 30 to 60 minutes. Since PRP comes from your blood, you have almost no risk of any reaction.
What Results Can I Expect From the O-Shot®?
After the O-Shot®, you can expect an improvement in your symptoms within one to two weeks. Results include:
- Improved sexual function and enjoyment
- Better vaginal lubrication
- Relief of chronic pain
- Improvement in stress urinary incontinence
Many women find that their vaginal area feels like it did before factors like childbirth, hormonal changes, and age took their toll. Results will continue to improve for three or more months, and in some women, they may last up to a year.
Is There Any Downtime with the O-Shot®?
You may have minor soreness in the injected areas for one or two days. This should not keep you from resuming normal activities. You should feel comfortable resuming sex as soon as the soreness goes away. Some people start noticing results as early as a few days after treatment.
Am I a Good Candidate for the O-Shot®?
Since PRP comes from your blood, almost anyone can get the O-Shot®. If you have clotting problems or a medical problem affecting your platelets, the O-Shot® may not work as well, or you may not make a good candidate.
